THE USAFRICAN VOICE, INC. was founded in February 1994 in Baltimore City by Publisher Ayodele Ayetigbo originally under The U.S. Nigerian Voice. That February of 1994, Publisher Ayetigbo gave the following reasons for establishing the magazine.

1. To fill a vacuum. The publisher thought then that Nigeria was not covered enough in the US media. To fill such a vacuum, Publisher Ayetigbo put all his fourteen years experience in journalism to use to produce the maiden edition of The USNigerian Voice in February of 1994.

2.To engage our brains more than our brawns. Within this period (February 1994 – February 1996), however, after learning how not to put his eggs in one basket in February of 1996, Ayetigbo changed the outlook and the scope of the magazine.

“To make it in publishing business, you have to appeal to a broader segment of the international community,” explains Publisher Ayetigbo. See THE USAV, No 18, Jan/Feb 1996, page 3.

“As we therefore gradually dissolve The USNV to black, a new product – THE USAFRICAN VOICE
(USAV) is born to carry on with this business of giving you the news behind the news,” writes the
publisher from his desk in USAV’s maiden edition.

The USAV has continued to grow and has become a market force in the print media and now making
its inroad to web publishing industry. We are determined to remain as “America’s Leading International Features Magazine.”

Located in an up and coming, loft filled neigborhood of Gardenville section of East Baltimore–THE USAV continues to stick to its goal of providing superb value to its customers. This is USAV’s path for success.
